Full BBL Description
Original vintage Wolverine Supply & Mfg. Co. “Gee-Wiz” No. 40 – The Racing Game Sensation tin horse racing game, made in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, circa 1920s–1930s.
The colorful tin playfield features six horse rods and round scoring cups, operated by a wheeled metal launcher that propels small steel balls along the track. The wheel mechanism has been tested and still shoots the balls when rolled. The game is housed in its original cardboard box with bold racehorse graphics and includes the printed instruction sheet inside the lid.
Approximate box size: 16" long x 6" wide x 2½" high.
Condition
Game is in good vintage condition with surface wear from play, including scratches, scuffs, small spots and paint loss to the tin and horses.
Wheel launcher is working at the time of cataloging.
Several steel balls are included as shown; overall completeness is unknown, so the lot is offered strictly as found / as photographed.
Box and lid show heavy age and storage wear: edge and corner splits, crushing, creases, tears, soiling and general roughness, but the graphics still display nicely.
Interior instruction sheet is browned with edge wear, small tears and wrinkling.
A classic early 20th-century tin horse racing and betting game and a desirable addition to any vintage toy or game collection.
