Vintage licensed Walt Disney Productions “PEDRO” hand puppet, manufactured by Gund Mfg. Co., New York, circa 1940s–1950s.
Pedro features a molded hard rubber/early plastic head with painted details and a bright patterned cotton cloth body with red trim and bow tie. Both woven labels are present at the hem: one reads PEDRO Copyright Walt Disney Prod., the other is the Gund maker tag. The back of the head is molded © W.D.P. PEDRO.
Approximate height is 10½" from the top of the ears to the bottom hem.
Condition
Overall good vintage condition.
Paint and surface wear to head, especially on the ears, nose, and back, along with some small age spots/discoloration.
Cloth body shows light handling wear; pattern colors remain vivid.
Bottom hem is partially detached, as shown in the close-up image.
Puppet appears to be missing original hands if it was produced with them.
No offensive odors noted.
A scarce early Disney / Gund collaboration and a fun addition to any Disneyana, character toy, or vintage puppet collection.
