Vintage Artistic Lighting Corp. Glass Ceiling Light – 1950s 60s MCM Flush Mount.
Original vintage flush-mount ceiling light manufactured by Artistic Lighting Corp., Garfield, New Jersey, retaining its original manufacturer's/UL label.
Dating approximately to the 1950s–1960s, this distinctive square ceiling fixture features a cream/ivory painted metal housing accented with brass-tone trim and five glass panels – four rectangular side panels and a large square top panel. The glass has beveled edges that give the relatively compact fixture considerable architectural character.
The entire glass housing is hinged, allowing it to open for access to the interior. Inside are two opposing porcelain screw-type lamp sockets and the original mounting/electrical components.
Approximately 9¼" square at the base and 4½–5" high.
A particularly attractive surviving Mid-Century lighting fixture suitable for restoration in a period home, hallway, entry, bedroom, bathroom or other interior architectural setting.
CONDITION: Vintage restoration condition. The glass panels appear intact in the photographs with no obvious major breaks observed. The painted metal shows age-related discoloration, dirt, scratches, finish loss and general wear. Brass-tone trim has tarnish and oxidation.
The original electrical wiring is old, cut and exposed. The fixture requires complete rewiring before installation or use. It has not been electrically tested and is sold strictly as a vintage restoration fixture. Installation and rewiring should be performed by a qualified professional.
