Offered is an original signed political cartoon illustration board by Robert O. Bastian, a prominent San Francisco editorial cartoonist best associated with the San Francisco Chronicle. Bastian’s career spanned the postwar decades and includes notable Cold War and Vietnam-era work.

This original artwork appears to present a Vietnam War strategic satire with Ho Chi Minh imagery and missile/weapon chess-piece symbolism. Bold ink and brushwork on illustration board with production-style highlights.

Approx. size: likely around 15" x 19" (see photos with tape measure). Similar Bastian boards are documented in this general format.

Condition: Vintage condition with expected age toning, light surface wear, minor edge/corner wear, and small spots/marks from handling/storage.
