A handsome and authentic piece of late 19th-century American advertising, this original 1889 Arbuckle’s Coffee chromolithograph, No. 39, is titled “Confidence.” The composition features a young girl posed with a large dog along a garden path, with a substantial house in the distance, all rendered in the soft, attractive palette typical of quality Victorian chromolithography.
Arbuckle’s Coffee remains one of the most recognizable names in early American packaged coffee advertising, and original surviving display pieces continue to attract collectors for both their historical value and decorative impact. This example is particularly appealing because of its larger presentation and surviving period frame, giving it immediate wall presence.
Measurements: approximately 28 3/4" x 15 3/4" framed.
Condition: original antique condition. The print presents attractively overall with expected age wear. The period frame has visible loss at the lower corners, as shown. Minor general wear from age and long-term display. Offered as found.
An excellent piece for collectors of Victorian advertising, Arbuckle coffee memorabilia, antique chromolithographs, and decorative dog-themed wall art.
