Chinese Bird-and-Flower Painting on Silk, Signed & Sealed, Hand-Painted Gongbi Style, 15" x 12" (17.5" x 21.5" framed)
Delicate ink and color on silk painting in the classical bird-and-flower (花鸟画) tradition. A small songbird with a long tail alights among white blossoms and foliage; the work is finely detailed in the gongbi manner with soft mineral pigments. An inscription with two red artist seals appears at upper left.
Medium/Support: Ink and color on silk, mounted with patterned silk brocade borders and framed under glass.
Image (sight): 15" x 12" (≈ 38.1 x 30.5 cm).
Framed: 17 1/2" x 21 1/2" (≈ 44.5 x 54.6 cm).
Attribution: Signed with two red chops; exact artist not identified.
Inscription / seals (best effort): Vertical inscription in Chinese running down the left margin; due to resolution I can only confidently make out a character that appears to be 秋 (autumn) near the end of the text. The upper seal is a square, two-character name seal; the lower seal is another small square studio or leisure seal. I’m not comfortable asserting a full translation from photos, so it’s listed as “signed & sealed, text untranslated.”
Dating: Framing and materials suggest mid–late 20th century (likely 1960s–1990s).
Condition (conservatively graded): Good vintage. Even toning to silk ground; scattered light spots and a few faint creases/wrinkles to the silk; minor edge darkening under the brocade mount. Frame shows scuffs, nicks, and older backing (cardboard and tape). Presents beautifully. Sold as imaged.
Shipping: Price includes U.S. shipping. Packed carefully; glazing may be taped for transit.
Notes: If you’d like a definitive translation/reading of the inscription and seals, I recommend removing it from the frame to photograph the entire left margin square-on in bright, even light; I can then attempt a more precise reading.
