Antique black-painted metal milk can / small utility pail with lid and swing bail handle, measuring approximately 10 1/2 inches high and about 7 inches across. A very appealing primitive country-form object with an untouched worn surface and strong decorative presence.
This piece is best appreciated for its look rather than utility. The dark blackened finish, age wear, and honest patina give it excellent primitive and farmhouse appeal. It displays well on a shelf, in a cupboard, near a hearth, or as part of a country general-store or early kitchen grouping.
