Antique Arctic Ice Shave No. 33 produced by Grey Iron Casting Co. of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, USA. This compact cast iron ice shaver / ice hone was originally used to shave ice blocks for iceboxes and drink service, and now makes a great primitive kitchen or industrial display piece.
The top is fully embossed with the Arctic Ice Shave branding and Grey Iron Casting Co. name, and the underside is marked MADE IN USA. The interior still holds the original steel shaving blade secured by a plate and nut.
Approximate dimensions: 5 ¾" long x 1 ⅞" wide x 2 ⅛" high.
Condition
Good antique overall with strong, legible lettering.
Cast iron body shows a dark, even aged patina with scattered light rust and oxidation typical for its age.
Blade and hardware intact; not tested for sharpness and offered as-is for display or restoration.
No obvious cracks or structural damage seen; typical small nicks and wear from use.
