A scarce and historically important Asch Records album from 1944, Songs for Victory: Music for Political Action (A-346), representing early American labor and political folk recordings.
Produced by Moe Asch prior to the formation of Folkways Records, this album captures union-era messaging and working-class musical expression rarely preserved in surviving format.
This example is incomplete, retaining 2 of the original 3 records, with one later Stinson pressing included.
Despite its condition and missing disc, it remains a desirable piece of American labor and recording history.
Included with this set:
- 346-2A — UAW-CIO
- 346-2B — A Dollar Ain’t a Dollar Any More
- 346-1A — Hold the Fort / We Shall Not Be Moved
- 346-1B — Hold On
Missing:
- 346-3A
- 346-3B
The missing third disc corresponds to:
- Sally Don’t You Grieve
- Jim Crow
Important note on originality: side 346-1A in this set is a Stinson Records pressing, not the original Asch issue, so this is an incomplete mixed-label set rather than a fully original Asch-complete album.
Condition

Heavy wear, spine wear, edge wear, scuffing, and age-related handling wear. Structurally present, but clearly worn.
