1972 Mark of the Devil Original Movie Promo Vomit Bag – Rated V for Violence Horror.
Original vintage promotional vomit bag produced for the U.S. theatrical release of the controversial horror film Mark of the Devil.
Released in the United States by Hallmark Releasing Corp. in 1972, Mark of the Devil became famous for its sensational exploitation-film advertising campaign. Moviegoers were given promotional vomit bags, while the film was advertised as the first movie “Rated V for Violence.”
Printed in red on the front:
“This VOMIT BAG and the PRICE of one ADMISSION will enable YOU to SEE... the first film rated V for violence”
The bag also advertises:
“POSITIVELY THE MOST HORRIFYING FILM EVER MADE”
and
“Guaranteed to upset your stomach”
The bottom is marked with the ABP manufacturer's logo.
This is an original period promotional item, not a modern reproduction. An example of this same Mark of the Devil promotional vomit bag is held in the collection of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.
Condition: Vintage unused promotional bag with age toning, discoloration, handling/storage marks, creasing and other wear consistent with age. It remains intact and displays very well. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
A classic piece of 1970s horror, exploitation cinema and theatrical advertising memorabilia.
