• Maker era materials size: – Artist: B Anderson, dated 1948 – Medium: oil on canvas (visible weave) – Artwork size: 12 x 16 in 30.5 x 40.6 cm – Frame size: 15 x 19 in 38.1 x 48.3 cm – Frame: solid wood, brown stain, vintage backing paper and wire
• Condition: Overall very good for age. Light surface grime and scattered faint specks consistent with 75 years; a few rubbed spots to paint here and there under close view; frame shows small nicks, scratches and edge wear. Stable and displays beautifully. No loose canvas, tears or repairs observed.
• Care tips: Display out of direct sun and away from damp areas; dust frame lightly with a soft brush. If desired, have a conservator perform a gentle surface clean—do not use household cleaners on painted surfaces.
• Provenance: Private collection; artist signed and dated 48 on the canvas.
• Why it is special: Sweet Americana genre scene with a classic St Bernard—great subject matter for farmhouse, cottage or kids room decor, and a real hand painted original rather than a print.
