Original 8x10 gelatin silver press photograph showing two Lockheed P-38 “Lightning” fighters in flight. Issued by International News Photos with the original typed newsroom caption (“snipe”) still attached and editorial archive stamp on the reverse (The Evening Bulletin, MAR 1 1944). Classic twin-boom profile with pilot visible in the lead ship—great subject for aviation and WWII collections.
Condition (vintage, not a modern reprint): clean image with nice contrast; light surface/handling creases and waviness; small corner bend/softening at upper left; caption slip toned with a small tear at the top edge from earlier removal; reverse has INP stamp and newsroom library stamp/notes. Presents well.
